Location and admission
The landmark is on Battery Hill, reached from Duncraggan Road. It is an open-air public garden rather than a staffed attraction: there is no ticket desk, indoor exhibition or visitor centre at the tower. Access arrangements can change because of weather, maintenance or local restrictions.
Walking from Oban
The climb from the town centre is short in distance but steep. One commonly described route uses Jacob’s Ladder, with 144 steps, before continuing uphill. Allow extra time in wet, icy or windy weather and wear footwear with suitable grip.
Driving and parking
A small parking area is located near the tower, approached by narrow residential roads. Spaces are limited. Driving close to the site reduces the uphill distance but does not guarantee step-free access to every viewpoint or garden route.
